Jewel Quest 6 - 2 Unused Board Mechanics
By looking in the game's files, I found remnants of a couple board types/mechanics that went unused in the final game. Here I'm showcasing 2 of them: "dynamic gaps" and rotating boards. Dynamic Gaps - Jewels suddenly fall off the board and create gaps. Judging by how the gaps are marked in the game files, they were most likely supposed to be combined with white pearls (after a gap was created, it could still be filled using pearls). Rotating Boards - This one's quite unfinished and messy. Game files suggest that a rotating board would have a max number of jewels at once. Obviously in order to turn to gold tiles that are empty and unreachable, the board would rotate. The parameter that would set the max number of jewels doesn't work. In addition, the board becomes totally scrambled and glitchy even after a single rotation.
