UFC Champion vs Boxing Champion in MMA
Learn from Legends: http://www.legendarystriking.com What happens when a former boxing world champion and Olympic gold medalist (Ray Mercer) enters MMA to fighter a former UFC champion (Tim Sylvia)? Well, Mercer wasn't supposed to win, especially because he was 47, but he did. There was a mindset in the older days of MMA that you can embarrass the opponent by beating them at their own game. Tim Sylvia broke the gentleman's agreement of not kicking, and then engaged in a boxing exchange with Ray Mercer. He jabbed down, giving way to Ray Mercer's favorite punch in the right hand. This resulted in a classic cross counter KO, one that we have seen many times throughout history. A great tactical study and a big lesson learned here.
