History of Dr. Neilhouzhii kire first Naga Matriculate passed.
Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, son of Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire, briefly discussed the renaming of a school in honor of his father. Originally known as Government Higher Secondary School Seikhazou, the institution was renamed after Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire in 2017. Dr. Neikiesalie Kire also provided a concise account of his father’s life, highlighting Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire’s birth in 1900 in Kohima village and his historic achievement as the first Naga matriculate after successful completion of his matriculation from Shillong Government High School in 1918. Following this, he pursued his education at the Berry White Medical School in Dibrugarh, ultimately earning an LMP (Licentiate Medical Practitioner) in 1922. Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire passed away on May 15, 1969. He also emphasized the pressing need for science streams in the higher secondary school within the village and urged the relevant department to review the proposed initiative.
