The presentation ceremony was reportedly delayed due to a standoff — India was unwilling to accept the trophy from Naqvi, while Naqvi refused to step aside. As a result, the trophy was quietly removed from the ground before the remaining formalities began. Meanwhile, Pakistan players received their runners-up medals from Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam. While a few Indian players, including Tilak Varma, Kuldeep Yadav, and Abhishek Sharma, collected individual awards from sponsors, the team did not accept their winner’s medals or the Asia Cup trophy on stage.
