Layne Rosario vs Mike Reed

The “Upgrade” takes advantage of referee Ivelisse’s diligent checking of Layne to loosen her boot laces and get the drop on her. Layne weathers an early storm of offense but literally falls for “your shoes untied” allowing Reed to regain the offensive. The lack of sportsmanship clearly struck a nerve with Layne who battles back with strikes and shoulderblocks. Reed returns the favor as this one sea saws back and forth with both laying in heavy strikes and using questionable tactics, drawing the ire of the ref. A big Bodyslam and elbow drop put the “Upgrade” firmly in control, with a Backbreaker, Surfboard and Rear Chinlock adding to Layne’s misery. The Derby Girl is spunky but she has no answers for Reed’s power and submission playbook, which include a seated Abdominal Stretch, Bearhug & hard slam into the corner. Mike might actually have more to fear from Ivelisse DQing him. A moment’s indecision gives Rosario the opening she desperately needed but does she have enough left to downgrade the “Upgrade”?
