It may seem boring but if you want success in gi jiujitsu you must understand and be able to implement a griping strategy. You must understand which grips are more to be desired and which ones work for your body type and game. Dominating a grip battle can put you far down the road to victory. Green is probably new to competing. Everyone needs a reliable mount escape. You must be able to go into your preferred escape at will.
