Chapati is a favorite of many households in Kenya. This unleavened flat bread bread cooked on a griddle or cast iron, called karai in Swahili was brought to East Africa , Kenya in particular by Indians who came to help build a railway line from the Port of Mombasa to the interior regions of Kenya and Uganda in late 1890s. In this video am sharing how I make my big batch chapati at home to share with family and friends. INGREDIENTS 5 lbs ( 2,27Kg ) All purpose wheat flour 2 Tbs Kosher salt 1 Tbs Granulated sugar 1 Tbs Vegetable oil ( I used Olive canola blend ) 1.5 Qt Luke warm water + extra water as needed Extra flour for dusting Extra Vegetable oil for layering and cooking
