Death Changes the Rules of Muay Thai

Fights were organized at temple fairs, city festivals, military barracks, and town squares. Sometimes it was just a tight circle of spectators standing on bare ground — Fight Club style. Other times, a makeshift ring was thrown together from rope. The key point: there was no single set of rules for the whole country. Before each fight, both sides would agree on the basics — how long the bout would last, how it would be stopped, and what moves were allowed. Weight classes and medical checks, in the modern sense, often didn't exist. Fighters could compete several days in a row — no rest. That's a very different level of risk, and it bred a very different kind of fighter. #MuayThai #ThaiBoxing #MuayBoran #MartialArts Fight Vision Muay Thai - all about Thai Boxing! SUBSCRIBE!
