Jon Mackey is reflecting on a year in post as the High Performance Director of Ireland’s most successful Olympic sport. He shares the challenges & opportunities in leading Ireland’s only full-time, centralized high performance training programme, particularly during Boxing Ireland’s transition to World Boxing. Jon shares how vital the thriving relationship between Central Council and the HPU is to the ongoing development of the sport. He has paid tribute to the technical excellence of Boxing Ireland club coaches, on which the High Performance programme builds.
