Although Liu Lei has a Sanda and #kickboxing background, he has also successfully transitioned to #muaythai successfully. For example, Liu Lei participated in Topking World Series in 2015 reaching a spot in the semifinals. He also has an excellent record fighting abroad. During EM Legend 29 - London Station, Liu Lei defeated Vinny Church, who ranked first place in 72.5kg in Britain at that time. Later during EM Legend 33 - New Zealand he won two WKA gold belts with a brilliant performance, winning the 4-man eliminator event defeating Sam Haggit and Brook Sutton.
