With WWF Raw airing on the USA Network and WCW Nitro airing live on TNT every Monday night, fans would choose which show to watch. This resulted in a TV ratings battle between the two companies. This time period in pro wrestling saw record viewers tuning in every week to see the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, the nWo, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Goldberg and Sting. This week on WCW Nitro the “Impact Player” gets revealed, a debuting superstar that WCW have signed from the World Wrestling Federation. A former ECW champion also appears on Nitro but he hasn’t got much to say, and the show gets headlined by a nWo vs WCW battle when The Outsiders and Randy Savage take on Lex Luger, The Giant and Diamond Dallas Page. On WWF Raw is War, Paul Bearer reveals The Undertaker’s secret. It’s an important promo that gives fans clues about The Undertaker’s past and what could be in the future.
