Sumo's Amazing Cinderella Story - Tokushōryū Makoto -January 2020 Championship

Before the pandemic, sumo fans witnessed an amazing championship run in January 2020. After spending 12 of sumo’s previous 13 grand tournaments in the second-tier juryo division, Tokushōryū Makoto energized the sumo world by winning his first title with a 14-1 record. After completing his victory with a win over ozeki Takakeisho, the 181-cm, 188-kg wrestler broke down in tears of joy. Tokushōryū Makoto is 35 years old now but his still on the top division ranking Maegashira #15 last July Tournament.
