On May 5, 2007, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, pound-for-pound star Floyd Mayweather Jr. challenged boxing superstar Oscar De La Hoya for the WBC super welterweight title in one of the biggest fights in boxing history, billed "The World Awaits."
