Redkach, clearly frustrated, even stuck his tongue out at Garcia in the closing seconds after eating more clean shots. Garcia (36-2, 21 KOs), 31, of Philadelphia, kept pressing forward in the fifth, hurting Redkach with a right hand late in the round and showing little respect for his opponent’s offense as he dictated the action. By the seventh round, the punishment had visibly mounted, as Redkach suffered a cut above his left eye. The beating continued into the ninth, prompting referee Benjy Esteves to briefly pause the action so the ringside doctor could check Redkach. The fight was allowed to continue, but Garcia—headlining at Barclays Center for the eighth time since its 2012 opening—kept pouring on the pressure.
