The better and original titled Throwdown, almost serves as an noun for what you'd really like to do, if hiring or buying the DVD. Welcome to a new low in camerawork. Your eyes will be shifting manifold The film does have a decent lead, and a great story and situations of characters, but so sadly suffers, as you experience stylistic B grade . It sort of feels like a City Lights production, with the humming in the background. The baddies are bad, no more so than Danny Trejo as a child pedalling pimp. What were you thinking, signing on for this. One scene with him, again brandishing his machete, is sickeningly abhorrent, it really wasn't warranted or appreciated. Jones is strong as a mob boss, who pushes our cool lead and defendant of scummy criminals into a corner, he may not be able to get out of, but the less said about the great situation and plot, the better (anti spoiler). A nice vaguely optimistic note in it's ending too. Still worth a watch, yes, but before of the camera handling, where a 4 year old could probably do better. 2.5/10.

I ONLY checked this out because I'm a big fan of Danny Trejo but his character was horrible here & the crappy beyond cheap film looked like it was filmed with a cheap camcorder!!!! Absolutely nothing good about this poor trash.

Jaxon Stone (Timothy Woodward Jr.) defends bad guys even when he knows they are guilty. When Juan Torres (Jerry G. Angel) is accused of rape and murder, he works to free him even though Juan confesses to the crime. Vincent Delacruz (Vinnie Jones) whose son was murdered wants Stone to free Juan so he can kill him. Meanwhile in a subplot young girls are being kidnapped and forced into prostitution so Danny Trejo can do his cameo and get his face on the DVD cover as if he was a major player. The courtroom drama was poor. Stone opened the film with the worse closing argument I have ever heard. I wouldn't let this guy defend me for a parking ticket. Luke Goss works with Stone as he knows how to Google. The story was fairly linear and had a feel and soundtrack like a made for TV production. Some of the film was shot with a shaky camera for effect, but after they did that for the tied up girls, why did they continue it into the bar scene? And what was that on the lens while Stone was giving a speech in his living room? California has reciprocal discovery laws, which the film ignores. Danny Trejo is back to doing small roles that need an ugly Mexican. Parental Guide: F-bombs. No sex or nudity. Killing. Minor torture. Abduction. My advice is don't pay to see it.

Vinnie Jones goes beyond justice, beyond the pale and beyond the line of credulity in this bargain basement revenge stinker. Vinnie plays a father of no fixed accent who wants the kind of justices that real geezas mete out to bad slags who muck about wiv little kiddies. He is aided in his plot for mockney revenge by C movie staple Danny Trejo. His nemesis is half of Bros who wants to give 'im a right hander across the coupon, but Vinnie is aint 'aving none of it. Vinnie makes threats in his mota in his gaff and down the old rub a dub in a low budget straight to DVD stinker soon to be filling up the dump bins at Walmart. If you enjoy seeing eighties footballers 'act' with eighties boybands then this is the thing for you. However, if you have an IQ of 80 or higher you may find this twaddle insulting to your intelligence.

Which doesn't really save the movie or make it really that much better, I'm just stating the obvious I reckon. But it was nice seeing some of them. Mischa Barton might have fallen from Grace (and OC) a long time ago, but others make good contributions to movies from time to time. Giving Danny Trejo a machete to wield in this, might be a neat trick, but doesn't really help too. Actually some might feel offended by him (or his character for that matter) doing that. It's just a movie, but you can't capture magic (or machetes) in a bottle like this. The movie is predictable as could be expected and there is a very good looking dark haired beauty in this, if you care about such a thing. It might be the only thing to get excited about in this movie ...

This movie had real potential. A few decent actors, some sweet eye candy here and there, but most of the actors are slow on the uptake, dull expressions and without any character. The plot is so predictable, the main character so flaccid that it is difficult to have any sympathy for him. Only Vinnie comes through as the psychotic tough guy he usually plays. Obviously a role close to his heart. The camera angles are also very derivative and the shaky camera effect, designed to hopefully build tension, is completely numbing and gave me a headache. I don't know how the movie ended because I couldn't even fast forward to the finish, it was so bad. The only element keeping it out of very bad territory is Vinnie and the eye candy. Do not waste your time! Skip it. Honestly!

I'm a fan of Danny Trejo and this movie caught my interest because of him. I was pleasantly surprised that as the film went on, I became interested in the story and wanted to see how it turned out. Without giving away any spoilers, I liked the way Tim Woodward and Vinnie Jones carried off their roles. Mr. Jones is increasingly solid in his roles as the sinister gangster/villain. Mr. Trejo had a smaller part and does what he does in character. The film had a good pace to it and didn't drag on and on like most in the genre. Be sure to watch the ENTIRE movie (beyond the credits)! IMO this film deserves more than than the mediocre rating it has received thus far. This one was worth the watch for me.

You want me to defend him, set him free and deliver him to you." Jaxon Stone (Woodward Jr.) is one of the best lawyers in town. When two clients hire him he begins his investigations to find a way to free them. When it turns out that one of the clients has ulterior motives Jaxon is in a difficult spot. Either save the defendant and he dies, or prove he's guilty and Jaxon dies. So judging by the cast alone I was expecting this to be garbage. Nothing against the stars of the movie but most of the movies they have been in have been pretty low budget and slow. That said I will do this review in two parts. First of all I have to say that this is one of the most technically bad movies I have ever seen. The camera goes in and out of focus, the zooms are so close that you can't see the actor's whole face, and the boom mic never seems to be in the right place. Some of the dialog is echoed and some is too loud. All that said though the actual plot and movie was much better than I was expecting. The biggest problem with movies like this have been that they are so slow moving. This movie is only an hour and 15 minutes long so it really moves along quickly. The idea is really interesting and that is what really got me and I ended up staying interested the entire time. I am not saying that this is an amazing movie or something to run out and see but this is a million times better than I was expecting. Overall, one of the biggest surprises I have seen in a while. Far surpassed my expectations. I surprisingly give this a B-.
